Growing up so fast

And what has BreeAnna been up to while Aaron has been so busy? She got her first toothbrush and she loves to take care of those pearly whites.

More Aaron Capers

These are still capers from the first month we moved. I just didn't have time to post them all. This is a very wet baby, and this is how it happened. My kids get up pretty early, so as soon as it's light outside I let them go in the backyard. So I dressed them and sent them out at about 8:00 AM. About 10 minutes later I hear BreeAnna screaming. I run out there and find her like this.
Actually, this picture is in the bedroom before I changed her, but Aaron got a hold of the garden hose, which happend to be on and had a spray nozzle on the end. When I went outside he was guiltily holding the spray nozzle and BreeAnna was just sopping wet.

And this picture was taken about an hour after Aaron's bedtime. Apparently he didn't get enough to eat, so he got up and while we were in the other room watching a movie, he helped himself to the pantry and refridgerator.
His healthy snack includes several pudding cups, a half package of Ritz crackers, 1/2 C of Ovaltine in a cup (no milk), a large tub of yogurt, raisins, and Easy Cheese. Yuck.

A Very Clean Cat Bowl

This story begins with a dog door. My aunt has a dog door that leads to the backyard in her laundry room and Aaron thinks it is pretty cool that he doesn't have to open the door to go outside; he just crawls through the dog door. As a matter of fact, he's taken to going outside any time he needs to take a leak because it's easier than using the toilet.

My aunt also keeps the cat water dish/fountain and cat food in the laundry room and my kids love to play with the cat water fountain. I've caught BreeAnna taking measuring cups out of the kitchen drawers and taking them into the laundry room to get drinks from the cat water fountain.

One day I wanted Aaron to stay inside and so I blocked off the dog door with a large container of laundry soap (you know how you can get bulk powdered laundry soap in big plastic tubs). In my own defense, it's not like those tubs of soap are easy to open. I can hardly pry the lid off. I digress. Anyway, I heard Aaron dinkin' around in the laundry room so I figured he was trying to drink from the cat fountain. I went in to stop him and found this.
This is a cat fountain filled with powdered laundry soap and cat food. The filter, was of course, ruined. I also found this.
Judging from the amount of soapy footprints (all his), I'm guessing it took several trips to get as much soap into the fountain as he did. Never fear; no cats were harmed in the execution of this caper. Once the filter was replaced, and the fountain pieces thoroughly rinsed, she had a very clean cat bowl.

Picasso

Aaron lost no time in redecorating our "house". We are actually renting half of a house from my Aunt, so it's not actually our house, which made it even worse.
First he found my acrylic paints and roller and decided to paint our bedroom. Luckily, I have painted with him before, so he knew to put the paint in a paint tray, and he only painted the walls, door, and mirror. He dripped on himself and the carpet a little, and it appears that he probably sucked on the roller at one point, but he's still alive so I guess that's ok. We managed to catch him before the paint was dry so it all came off of the walls and mirrors with water and soap. His clothes, however, are a lost cause.
Next he colored the shower door with a red crayon.
This was actually more difficult to scrub off than the paint, but it did come off, so Aaron, the artist will live to color again.

Prepare for Post Overload

Let's see if I can catch you up on all of Aaron's and BreeAnna's latest capers.
Aaron has been very busy enjoying his new backyard. On this particular occasion, he dumped potting soil on the basketball court, and when I went out to confront him, he said, "Look Mommy, it's dirt!" Apparently, little boys need backyards.
BreeAnna is busy showing all of our extended family that she is a girl. She loves trying on shoes, carrying purses, hugging baby dolls, wearing necklaces, and talking on cell phones. My Mom says that the only thing not girly about her is her little voice. She kind of growls when she talks, except when she's talking to her baby dolls. Then she adopts a high pitched gibberish, so maybe she's just trying to show us she's as tough as her big brother.

Ooops

Actually, one other thing. I was updating the blog and I accidentally deleted my "Friends" section with all of my friend's links. I had most of the addresses saved somewhere else, but a few I can't seem to find. So if my dear friend Jenny, and Hayley, and Megan could remind me how to get to their web pages (in an e-mail if you would prefer it not to be posted on my blog), I'd love it. Thanks.

Graduation Photos from May

Yes, 4 months late. We can't seem to figure out how to get our internet hooked up properly, so all of the funny kid posts will just have to wait. In the meantime, I'm using my parents' computer which has all of my graduation photos on it which I promised to post oh so long ago. When I graduated we couldn't find our still camera, only the video camera, so I've had to wait until I could get my parents pictures to post. So here is proof that I survived college!
This week I'll have to download all of my pictures of the kids, put them on the flash drive, and take them to a computer with internet access. What makes me think I'll get this done, I don't know. My sister Jill is getting married on Saturday, so that's probably what I'll be doing all week, but in case I have a spare couple hours in the evening, that is my plan.

And a side note...I generally reserve more personal and spiritual things for my other blog, but since I have practically no pictures I'll just post here. This weekend we were able to view the semi-annual General Conference for our church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the first time in 3 years. For the past three years we've been in places where we couldn't watch it on TV because we didn't have cable, and it wasn't shown on local stations, so we've been listening online for the past three years. It was so good to SEE apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ testify of him and speak words of encouragement and faith at a time when all you hear on the news is doom and despair. I am so grateful that we can hear modern apostles speak to us every six months words of wisdom and encouragement as we struggle through life's challenges. It's such a great reminder that there is hope left in the world, and that we can go forward with faith that the work of God will be accomplished (Moses 1:39) and we are not left alone.
